Flicker
The interesting view in this piece is that each individual clip has something in common with the previous shot, and then the following. First the basic layout of flowers earns itself an obvious resemblance. Then the signs are much more subtle once the frames come alive in movement and vivid colors. The second time the bouquet of purple flowers is revealed a ray of light pierces the lens. That flare is then continued in my next shot. This shot on the side of the building has a weak ray of light to the left, then a main one, then three more vertical rays reaching across the void of screen. Slowly, one by one, the rays of light disappear leading you to an unfocused blurry tree. This lack of vision gives this world a sense of wonder. It is different, then as the film flickers off you realize this world is not even real at all.
